The City of Tallahassee is closely monitoring Hurricane Isaias. City departments are prepared to respond as needed, and residents are encouraged to prepare as well.
For the safety of community members and staff, all outdoor athletic practices and games scheduled for Friday evening, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10, are cancelled. Pools, tennis and pickleball courts, Forestmeadows and The Meadows soccer complex will be closed Friday evening, Oct. 9, and reopen to the public on Monday, Oct. 12. All City-run community and service centers, including the Palmer Munroe Teen Center, Trousdell Gymnastics Center and the senior centers at Monroe and Welaunee, will close early at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, and reopen to the public on Monday, Oct. 12.
The Parks, Recreation & Neighborhood Affairs Department is committed to making programs and community recreation settings safe for patrons, participants, employees and volunteers, free from physical and emotional harm. That includes bullying or harassment based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity which will not be tolerated.
